Cookie Policy

Last updated: 28 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains every cookie Notdown sets, why we set it, and how long it lives. Notdown deliberately uses the minimum number of cookies required to operate the Service. We do not use any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. No third-party trackers are loaded on this site.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. It is sent back to the website on every subsequent request, allowing it to recognize you between page loads.

Cookies we set

All cookies below are strictly necessary for the Service to function. They are first-party, HttpOnly, Secure, and use the SameSite=Lax attribute.

Name Purpose Lifetime
notdown_session Keeps you signed in across page loads. Encrypted server-side, no PII in the cookie itself. 2 hours (idle) or 30 days if you tick "Remember me"
XSRF-TOKEN CSRF protection. Required for any form submission or Livewire action. Browser session
remember_web_* Set only if you tick "Remember me" at login. Allows automatic re-authentication. 30 days

What we do NOT set

  • No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or similar analytics cookies.
  • No advertising cookies (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, etc.).
  • No third-party social-media widget cookies.
  • No fingerprinting or behavioral-tracking cookies.

Server-side request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) are retained for 30 days for security and debugging, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

When you complete a payment, you are redirected to Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe sets its own cookies on the Stripe domain to process your payment securely. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy. We do not load Stripe Elements or any other third-party script inside the Notdown dashboard.

Consent

Because all cookies we set are strictly necessary, no consent banner is shown. Under the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. If you reject all cookies in your browser, you will not be able to sign in or submit forms.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies from your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and require you to log in again on your next visit.

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Edge

Changes

If we ever add a non-essential cookie (we currently have no plans to), this page will be updated and a banner will appear asking for explicit consent before the cookie is set.
